Abstract
The present study portrays the SAR of synthesized heterocyclic compounds and its hepatic biochemical enzyme levels (SGOT, SGPT) antidiabetic activity in mice model. As the incidence of and options for treatment for diabetes mellitus continue to rise, the importance of selecting molecular entities that can improve drug performance is evident. The work included the synthesis of a series of compounds and evaluations for glucose-lowering over 14 days. Antidiabetic activity related structural requirements were discovered. Glucose lowering significantly related to the presence of electron-donating or nitrogen containing groups was established through statistical calculations. These results highlight that SAR could be useful in the design of effective antidiabetic compounds for the preclinical testing.
